  • Individual Call to Scientific Employment Stimulus (FCT)

CITTA will host candidates who wish to apply for the Portuguese Science and Technology Foundation (FCT) Call to Scientific Employment Stimulus.

The Call will be open from the 17 january to the 20th february 2019, in the following career levels: Junior Researcher, Assistant Researcher, Principal Researcher and Coordination Researcher (see details in https://www.fct.pt).

Research proposals must be integrated into one of the four CITTA's research groups (Planning and Environmental Assessment; Urban Planning and Housing; Transport Analysis and Planning; and Transport Engineering and Management). It is suggested that potential candidates express their interest by sending their CV and a summary of the research project to citta@fe.up.pt.

  • Research opportunities in a post-doc scholarship 

Call for a Postdoctoral Scholarship (BPD) is underway to work in an European research project - Citizen Sensing - Urban Climate Resilience through Participatory Risk Management Systems, funded by the ERA4CS program through the FCT (Foundation for Science and Technology), under ERA4CS / 0001/2016.

Admission conditions: Candidates must hold a PhD in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Architecture, Landscape Architecture, Geography, Sociology, Territory Planning or related fields, and present solid knowledge in the areas of Territory Planning and Environment, and methodologies of public participation in local governance and climatic urban resilience.

The Call is open till 20th December, 2018.

  • Research opportunities in new research project - MOBI-AGE

  • PhD positions for Early Stage Researchers in RE-CITY ITN 

ITN 13 Marie Sklodowska-Curie (MSCA) PhD positions for Early Stage Researchers (ESR).

The PhDs will be hosted at one of the beneficiary-institutions of RE-CITY: Technische Universität Kaiserslautern (TUK), Cambridge Architectural Research (CAR), École Normale Supérieure Paris (ENS), Spatial Foresight (SPF), TU Dortmund University (TUDO), University of Amsterdam (UVA), University of Porto (UPT) Adam Mickiewicz University Poznan (AMU) and University of Guadalajara (UDG).

The RE-CITY ITN is funded by the European Union’s Horizon 2020 programme and is aiming to explore and evaluate new approaches and success factors for shrinking cities. The project further aims at training highly skilled experts for the four key themes of shrinking cities: conceptualising shrinking smart, governing, greening/right-sizing, and regrowing shrinking cities.
