Mariana Pizzo Diniz is a Brazilian architect with an MSc in Architecture and Urban Planning (Brazil, 2018-2019). She is currently a fourth-year PhD candidate in Spatial Planning at FEUP/CITTA. Her PhD research, entitled "From Types to Regions: A Hierarchical and Quantitative Approach to Urban Patterns in GIS," is funded by the FCT (UI/BD/151237/2021) and aims at developing a GIS classification algorithm based on the identification of urban typomorphologies. Additionally, she is part of the Research Group Smog at Chalmers University.
