2.16 - Patterns of Urban Disadvantage and Urban Regeneration Policies
Project Description
In recent years there has been a growing awareness of the importance of disadvantaged urban areas. The issue is becoming increasingly crucial due to the ongoing socio-economic and socio-demographic transformation processes which are producing new risks of impoverishment, vulnerability and of social inequality in the cities.
Bearing these issues in mind, the focus of this research is on the development of new tools to map urban disadvantage in order to understand its spatial distinctiveness and to discuss urban regeneration policies and best practices dissemination.
