2.31 - AtlaS-WH - Heritage in the Atlantic Area: Sustainability of the Urban World Heritage Sites

Project Description

AtlaS-WH project intends to create a network of urban world heritage sites (WHS) by addressing common challenges related to the protection of their identity, while enhancing their cultural assets, in order to stimulate heritage-led economic and cultural development. The main result will be the sustainability plans for each WHS, by implementing an integrated and participative management and monitoring model, which arises from the common construction of a methodology and the exchange of know-how and best practices.

The tasks to be developed by CITTA’s researchers will include the follow up of several thematic studies, the analysis of the existing Management Plans and the elaboration of guidelines for the development and implementation of future Management and Sustainability Plans.
