Project Description

Among all natural disasters, floods are for many countries the most frequent and the most destructive. This research proposes the development of a modeling framework that could be used by civil protection authorities for the definition of flood emergency operations. Assuming a dynamic approach, the location of shelters and distribution centers (DC), the amount of resources that should be assigned to each DC, the evacuation routes and the sequence of procedures in a scenario-based analysis will be modeled and integrated in a GIS-platform.
